Oh happy day! My novel is “done,” which means I’m reaching out for beta readers. Bookworm (73K words) is an adult thriller with horror and romantic elements (because those pair so well!). It leans dark and literary, as so much of my writing does. So 18 and older, please, but other than that, my only requirements are that you be smart, honest, and CRITICAL. It’s good to know what’s working, but it’s more helpful (at this point) to know what isn’t.
For those of you who don’t know, Bookworm is my second completed manuscript. Trespass is still in the hands of agents. It’s been almost a full year. My plan is to write a few short stories and then dive back into Trespass for revisions. I believe so strongly in the story, and after doing some more researching, I think I know how it can be more marketable. Of course, if one of the agents picks it up, that changes everything (but not really, because they’ll have me revising, too).
Even if you’ve never beta read before, I’d still be grateful for you. Every perspective helps. And even if it’s not as perfect as it’ll be when it hits the shelves, my critique group assures me Bookworm’s a page-turner. I’ve put my all into this, and I’ve learned so much in the process. If you’re interested in trading betas or just want to help a writer out, email me at kellylynngriffiths@gmail.com, and I’ll send you the manuscript and commenting guidelines.

While I’m interested, I have so much on my plate, I wouldn’t do your work justice. It deserves full attention. Wanted you to know I thought about it, though.
Thanks, Matt. No worries. 🙂
Go, Kelly! I’m swamped at the moment as well. Otherwise, I’d have loved to read it!
No worries, Peg. Thanks anyway. 🙂
